Paragon Sports Consulting is proud to congratulate Zach Wooten on being selected by the Winnipeg Jets with the 116th overall pick (Fourth Round) in the 2026 NHL Draft in Buffalo, New York. Wooten becomes another Paragon Sports Consulting client to hear his name called on hockey’s biggest stage, marking an important milestone in his development journey.
A power forward from Apple Valley, Minnesota, Wooten established himself as one of the premier players in the United States Hockey League during the 2025-26 season with the Green Bay Gamblers. His relentless compete level, physical style of play, and offensive production earned him recognition as one of the league’s top NHL prospects. Scouts consistently praised his high motor, ability to pressure opponents in all three zones, and his powerful shot around the net.
Before his breakout season in Green Bay, Wooten continued to develop through the USHL, steadily refining his game before emerging as one of the league’s top forwards. This fall, he will continue his hockey career at the University of Wisconsin, where he is expected to make an immediate impact for the Badgers while continuing his pursuit of the National Hockey League.
“Zach has earned everything that has come his way,” said Colby Drost, Founder and Principal of Paragon Sports Consulting. “He’s the type of player every organization wants: competitive, coachable, and committed to improving every single day. The Winnipeg Jets are getting a player who brings tremendous character, work ethic, and a team-first mentality. We’re incredibly proud of Zach and excited to watch the next chapter of his career unfold at Wisconsin and beyond.”
Wooten’s selection continues Paragon Sports Consulting’s track record of helping athletes successfully navigate the path from junior hockey to NCAA Division I hockey and ultimately the NHL. His draft-day achievement serves as another example of what can be accomplished through patience, dedication, and long-term player development.
Everyone at Paragon Sports Consulting congratulates Zach, his family, coaches, and teammates on this outstanding accomplishment. We look forward to following his continued success with the Winnipeg Jets organization and the Wisconsin Badgers.
