Paul Goodman serves as Sports Performance Consultant to Paragon Sports Consulting. Internationally recognized as one of the leading movement and performance experts in the world, Paul is a trusted consultant to athletes across the NHL, other professional sports, Olympians, collegiate, and junior levels.
A 3X Stanley Cup Champion and 2X Rose Bowl Champion, Paul is known for his scientific, evidence-based approach to athletic development. His proven methods have been featured in prominent outlets including The Wall Street Journal, Yahoo Sports, and ESPN.com. In 2020, he was named the NSCA Professional Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year. He currently serves as President of the Strength Coach Association of Professional Hockey, acting as the official liaison between the NHL and professional hockey strength and conditioning coaches. Paul is also the co-author of the widely respected book Hockey Anatomy, published by Human Kinetics.
With over 28 years of experience, Paul began his career at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he earned his Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree while working in strength and conditioning with the football team. He went on to serve as Head Strength Coach for multiple sports at Wisconsin and spent seven years as Director of Strength and Conditioning for all Division I sports and Adjunct Professor at the University of Vermont. Paul is currently in his 14th season as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Chicago Blackhawks. He is also the owner of Goodman Elite.
